Policy:
It is the policy of Ashford Water District, (the District), that there is a fee for service line hook-ups. These fees exclude the cost for parts and installation thereof. Parts and installation are the responsibility of the service line owner. The parts used for the hook-ups will be prescribed by the District and installed by any of the following: the District, any authorized agent of the District, or a bona fide, licensed, bonded and insured contractor.
Fees:
The fee set forth for all connections will be $4300.00 per service line. This fee is subject to annual review.
Parts:
All fittings will be constructed of stainless steel or brass. No galvanized or black iron fittings will be used.
All pipe will be PVC schedule 40 minimum or “plastic pipe” rated to withstand 250 psi minimum.
The parts to be used will include the following:
1 each – Saddle
1 ea. – Corp valve
1 ea. – Compression coupler
1 ea. – Stainless Steel insert
1 ea. – Meter Box
1 ea. – Meter Setter, with compression fittings on both inlet and outlet
1 ea. – Meter
Parts sizing will be appropriate for service line.
Parts can be purchased through any plumbing outlet or from the District (provided at current cost, if in stock).
If the District is contracted for installation and such installation is performed by District Personnel, the customer will be billed on a time and material basis. Labor rate for the District will be set at $75.00 per hour, subject to change. If the District sub-contracts the work out, the customer will be billed no more than was charged to the District by the contractor.
Procedure:
All assemblies shall be bedded with 5/8” crushed gravel or sand.
Assemblies shall not be covered until inspected and approved by District personnel.
